A training programme on ‘Value added products from milk- Production and Marketing’ was conducted at Farmer’s Service Centre, Palliackkal Service Co- Operative Bank.
The programme was organized as part of the project ‘Scoping study for scaling up Kudumbasree micro enterprises in Ernakulam district of Kerala’ utilizing Seed Money for new research initiatives of CUSAT sanctioned to Dr. Sangeetha K Prathap. Jayachandran, President, Palliackkal Service Co- Operative Bank presided over the inaugural function. Dr. Sangeetha.K. Prathap, Assistant Professor, School of Management Studies, CUSAT, Principal Investigator of the project, in her special address observed that Ezhikkara being the project location, has achieved significant strides in safe to each vegetables and fruits cultivation along with diary farming.
“Manufacturing value added products will enable farmers to harness better price for their products and can extend geographic reach of the products”, she added. Dr. Divya, Assistant Professor, College of Dairy Science and Technology, Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University provided technical support and training in making value added products from milk.
