PANAJI:
The NSS unit of VMSIIHE organised a meaningful Republic Day program on campus. Students of VMSIIHE raised funds and contributed it towards the education of a school student from Raia on Republic Day. The funds were handed over to the student at the ceremony.
Chief Guest Gaby Petri, daughter of Late Dr. Wolfgang D Petri, Founder of the famed Cesar Ritz Colleges, Switzerland and her husband Erwin along with the Director/Principal Prof. Irfan Mirza unfurled the National flag which was followed by the singing of the National Anthem.
Addressing the students, Petri spoke about how it is important to work towards a goal. She shared the example of her own father who started off as a waiter and rose up the ladder eventually establishing the distinguished Cesar Ritz Colleges in Switzerland. She urged students to learn from the people around them especially from the Director Prof. Mirza who has been a quiet force.
The students put up a performance which ended with the patriotic song Vande Mataram.
