Science Day Celebrated at CUSAT with Emphasis on Women Scientists

“Only a small percentage of those who have completed their research use their research skills to benefit the society and it is worrying that those who have such skills give up midway”, said Vice Chancellor Dr K. N. Madhusoodanan.

He was inaugurating the National Science Day Seminar organized by the CUSAT Centre for Science in Society (C-SiS)and Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment ( KSCSTE) and Center for Integrated Studies. “There are more women coming into the field of science and that is a big breakthrough,’ he added.

“Indian scientists are some of the best in the world and research in science is very much active in India”, said Prof. K.P. Sudheer, Executive Vice President, KSCSTE while delivering the keynote address. “The Government itself is promoting women scientist for a great extend”, he added. Vice-Chancellor of Kerala Technological University Prof. Rajashree M.S. was the chief guest of the function. KSCSTE scientist Dr Anil Kumar, Prof. M. Bhasi, C-SiS Director and Prof. K. Sreekumar, Director, Center for Integrated Studies spoke. Dr. P. Lizimol and Dr. Saritha G. Bhatt led the classes.
