Sahapedia, the leading interactive online encyclopaedia on art and culture, has tied up with The Art Outreach Society (TAOS) and Muziris Heritage Project to conduct a heritage walk for the students of St Thomas Girls High School, Thevara, Kochi to familiarise them with the rich heritage of Ancient Port and entrepot Muziris on January 27.
During the outing, the students will be taken through three important museums – Paliam Palace, Paliam Naalukettuand the Chendamangalam Synagogue – showcasing the indelible imprint left by the area in international maritime trade and cultural exchanges since ancient time. The walk is to offer knowledge to students regarding our rich heritage and history.
The guides deployed at the museums, who are well trained in all the aspects of the tangible and intangible heritage of Muziris, will take the students through the historical background and settlement pattern of Ancient Port Town; Muziris. The team of museum guides includes Shimla. K.B, Seethal T.S, and Reshma T. R.
Sahapedia, the online treasure trove encompassing the histories, arts and culture of India(and, broadly, South Asia), is both a resource created by a team of researchers in collaboration with experts and institutions, and a platform for registered users from all over the world to contribute content on areas pertaining to their interests.
