Two day National conference on Safety and Fire Engineering Safe’19 organized by the Division of Safety and
Fire Engineering, School of Engineering, CUSAT was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Dr. K.N. Madhusoodanan at K.M School of Marine Engineering Seminar Hall.
Vice Chancellor pointed out that apart from being an engineering branch, Safety and Fire Engineering intervenes in our day-to-day life and that even if we are aware of the safety measures, nobody is ready to follow. He also demanded more activities to create social awareness in this regard.
School of Engineering Principal Prof. George Mathew presided over the meeting. Murali Madhavan, Executive Director- Operations, B.P.C.L Kochi Refinery was the guest of honour. Prof. K.S. Beena, Syndicate member, Prof. G. Madhu, Head, Division of Safety and Fire Engineering, Prof. Dipak Kumar Sahoo, Conference Co- Chair and Prof. V.R. Renjith, Organising Secretary spoke at the function. There will be 8 key note addresses and 35 paper presentations during the two day event. More than 100 delegates including faculty members, teachers and researchers are participating.
