THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
The Regional Centre of Expertise (RCE) recognized by the United Nations University (UNU) and the Centre for Innovation in Science and Social Action (CISSA) will organise EnviroMUN on June 2 at the College of Engineering, Trivandrum campus. The programme is being organised in association with Bhoomitrasena, the environment club of CET.
The programme will be organised on the lines of Model United Nations (MUN), which is a simulation of the actual proceedings of the UN with an aim to educate and make the participants aware of the UN and its working, as well as the socially, politically and environmentally relevant issues pertaining to the world.
EnviroMUN is being organised to make participants aware of the pressing problems of nature. An attempt at engaging young minds with global environmental challenges like climate change and encouraging them to think at the global level, the EnviroMUN will inspire delegates to think outside of the box and instigate them to come up with creative solutions. The programe will also instil a sense of commitment to carry out sustainable youth projects.
The programme will have students from all over India posing as the delegates of various countries. They will debate and discuss environmental topics which are of prime importance to the society and the world.
