THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
National Institute of Speech & Hearing (NISH), in partnership with the Directorate of Social Justice, will conduct a first-of-its-kind interactive online seminar on Down syndrome and its requisite long-term follow up on Saturday (August 19).
The seminar, which will be helmed by Dr Hariprasad, Additional Professor at the Department of Paediatrics, SAT Hospital, Government Medical College in Thiruvananthapuram, will be the 22nd edition of NISH’s well-received Interactive Disability Awareness Seminar (NIDAS) series.
The two-and-a-half-hour programme will commence at the NISH campus at 10.30 am. It will be streamed in real time to all District Child Protection Units (DCPU) offices across the state. Presented in Malayalam, the seminar aims to reach out to and sensitise large numbers of parents and caregivers who are not aware of the long-term implications of the condition.
