THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
National Institute of Speech and Hearing (NISH) has planned an online Interactive Disability Awareness Seminar (NIDAS) on “Leprosy: Facts everyone should know” for parents and care-givers on December 15th.
The seminar, being organized in collaboration with the Directorate of Social Justice, will be handled by Dr. J Padmalatha, State Leprosy Officer & Deputy Director, Directorate of Health Services, Thiruvananthapuram. The webinar in Malayalam is aimed at creating awareness regarding the causes, management and rehabilitation of leprosy among Children.
The proceedings of the seminar, to be hosted by NISH at its campus from 10.30 am onwards, will be simultaneously webcast at all the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) offices for audiences present there via internet. The two-and-a-half hour programme seeks to reach out to a larger audience of parents and caregivers. Interested people may contact the Child Protection Units Officer nearest to them.
