KOCHI:
The Kunjali Marakkar School of Marine Engineering (KMSME), CUSAT organized a one day national seminar on ‘Modern Trends in Digitalization of Shipping Industry’ at KMSME seminar hall. Ajith Kumar Sukumaran, Principal Officer cum Joint Director, Mercantile Marine Department, Chennai inaugurated the seminar at a function which was presided over by Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr. P.G. Sankaran.
Dr Jose Paul, Adjunct Professor, Indian Maritime University (Chennai) and former Director of the Mormugao Port Trust delivered the key note address. Pro-Vice- Chancellor launched the KMSME alumni website at the function. Dr. P.G. Sankaran, Prof. M.P. John, Director , KMSME, Prof. R. Venugopal, seminar convenor, V.J. Jose, Vice Chairman, Cochin Port Trust and KMSME Course Director N.G. Nair spoke. Paper presentation on the topics ‘smart ships for the future’ and ‘digitalisation in shipping’ were held under the leadership of Dr K.A. Simon, Director, Albert Maritime Institute and Associate Prof. Roy V. Paul.
