Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC)- India’s leading educator in high-end 3D Animation and Visual Effects, recently organized their four day Annual National Students Meet in Goa at the Bogmallo Beach Resort. Over 250 students made their way from 25 different cities to the pristine shores of Goa to participate in the eagerly awaited ‘National Students Meet’ for animation lovers all over the country.
The idea behind such a meet is to encourage animation and VFX students from all parts of the country to come together to be part of high end seminars, workshops, case studies, panel discussions and various creative activities. Besides this, the students are provided with a perfect platform for enthusiasts to work on live projects, meet professionals and get access to real life experiences and insights.
Commenting on the meet, Group Chief Marketing Officer Pravir Arora said, “We wanted to provide budding animators an opportunity to interact and learn from the industry stalwarts. Innovation and creativity is of utmost importance in the field of cinematics. When so many creative minds come together it is a creative bonanza for us! Our motive behind this event is to create a platform for the students to reach out to the experts and also to their counterparts. We want to empower our students with knowledge and insights which will be beneficial for them in the future through interactions and lectures organized at the NSM.”

Students from MAAC interacted with Madhu Nair, Vivek Bolar among other and had workshops and VFX session during the four days in Goa. At the end of the four day National Students Meet the entire group of students were enriched with the latest technology in the world of cinema and visual effects.
As per the “Global Animation, VFX & Games Industry: Strategies, Trends & Opportunities, 2018” report the total value of global animation industry was pegged at US$ 254 billion in 2017 and is projected to reach US$ 270 billion by 2020. The report also mentions that the demand for animation, VFX and gaming has increased due to the increase in targeted broadcasting hours by cable and satellite TV, availability of internet at a lower cost, popularity of mobile devices to stream videos. Also, animation and VFX skills are being considered beneficial for sectors like Virtual reality and augmented reality. This can be attributed to the fact that animation can now be found in every aspect of our lives from television, banking, entertainment, online shopping, web site designs, etc. Animation is a versatile and sought after skill to possess as the scope of careers is possible in virtually every sector from advertising, architecture, aviation, hospitality, travel & tourism, engineering, hospitals, media and entertainment etc.
