KOCHI:
Two students from Kochi made their parents proud by garnering International Rank in the SOF Olympiad. Over 42800 schools from 1400 cities across 25 countries participated in the six SOF Olympiad exams during 2016-17 and around 45 lakh students appeared in the Olympiad.
In this Olympiad, Kochi came out with flying colours. In International English Olympiad, International rank 1 was achieved by Teresa Suresh of class 1 st from Assisi Vidyaniketan Public School and Sangamitra of class 1 st from Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir and got a gold medal and certificate.
Science Olympiad Foundation organized a felicitation function to recognize & award the International winning students, teachers and principals of Olympiad exams held during the Academic year 2016-17.
During the function, the top 3 SOF international rank holders from classes one to twelve for the 6 Olympiad exams conducted by SOF were awarded. There were total 177 awards.

Mahabir Singh also informed that in addition to conducting Olympiads, SOF provides an annual scholarship to 300 meritorious girl children from the economically weaker section under the Girl Child Scholarship Scheme (GCSS), provides scholarship to 120 students excelling in English language, conducts Teachers’ Training Programs to share improved educational techniques & technologies with teachers, organizes various other training programs, camps and exhibitions and runs a scholarship called ‘’The Academic Excellence Scholarship” to recognize students’ exhibiting all round excellence in academics. Under the prestigious AES, 160 students across 25 countries are awarded with a trophy, a citation and a cash award.
