Researchers from Cochin University of Science and Technology bagged Kairali Research Award, instituted by the State Government to honor research luminaries in various categories. CUSAT has won the Kairali Research Award for Post-doctoral Research in Interdisciplinary areas and for Teachers doing their research.
Three post-doctoral researchers viz., Dr. Jabeen Fatima M.J. (Polymer Science and Rubber Technology), Dr. Sreelakshmi (Industrial Fisheries) and Dr. Anshida Mayeen (Inter University Centre for Nanometerials and Devices) have won the Kairali Research Award in the field of Interdisciplinary Research in Chemical Science, Biological Science and Physical Science, respectively. The award includes a research grant of Rs. 25,000, a citation and travel grant of Rs. 75,000.
The Kairali Research Award for best teacher in Physical Science and Social Science goes to Dr. Madhu S. Nair, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science and Dr. Devi Soumyaja, Assistant Professor, School of Management Studies, respectively. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh and a citation in addition to a research grant of up to 24 lakhs for two years. CUSAT Vice Chancellor Dr. K.N. Madhusoodanan said that it is a great accolade for the University in its golden jubilee year that majority of the awards have been attained by CUSAT. He also congratulated all the award winners.
