IIMK to Host Lecture Series on Evolving Financial Ecosystem

The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode, will be hosting a distinguished lecture series featuring eminent names from the academia as well as the industry, here, in the coming week. The eight-part series ‘Evolving Landscape of Financial Ecosystem’ will be inaugurated by Meleveetil Damodaran, former Chairman, SEBI, UTI and IDBI on September 7, 2020, and will also be the opening speaker for the series.

IIM Kozhikode had recently commenced its first batch of two-year full time Post Graduate Programme in Finance (PGP Finance) continuing its thrust on a multi-disciplinary approach to Higher Education, in the 25th year of its foundation. Other eminent speakers who will be participating in this distinguished lecture series to be conducted online are:

Prof. Sanjiv Ranjan Das – William and Janice Terry Professor of Finance and Data Science, Santa Clara University
Ashish Chauhan – CEO, Bombay Stock Exchange Limited
Radhika Gupta – CEO, Edelweiss Asset Management Limited
Shyam Srinivasan – CEO Federal Bank
Prof Viral Acharya – C.V. Starr Professor of Economics in the Department of Finance at NYU-Stern and Former Deputy Governor RBI
P R Ramesh – Chairman, Deloitte India
Bindu Ananth – Chairperson, Dvara Trust

Announcing the lecture series, Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director IIM Kozhikode, said “IIM Kozhikode as an Institute of eminence has always foreseen the requirements of the Industry. The launch of PGP-Finance was one such step in the direction to address the unprecedented transformation in the financial service industry. The objective of this lecture series is to provide a platform for interaction between IIMK community with interests in finance and thought leaders from Industry and Academia. Our year-long Silver Jubilee celebrations will feature many such thought evoking and interactive discussions that will celebrate IIMK’s journey as a change agent that transformed the higher education space in India”

PGP Finance Chairperson, Prof. Jijo Lukose, added that the speakers will be speaking on diverse topics ranging from financial sector regulation, wealth management, trends in funds management, restoring financial stability in India, to innovations in household finance. He added that general public too can benefit from the lecture series that will be broadcast live on IIMK’s official YouTube Channel (https://www.youtube.com/c/IIMKozhikodeYT). Eminent faculty from the Institute will be moderating the interactive sessions.
