KOCHI:
The Mental Health of the students who are adapting to an entirely different learning environment is the biggest casualty during the lockdown but has still not been recognised.
UNICEF states that more than 1.5 billion children and young people are impacted due to the closing of schools in 188 countries which accounts for almost 90 per cent of the global student population.
The learning process has to seamlessly move from physical classroom to the living room and that’s only possible if pedagogical provisions and education materials on keeping the mental health learners and teachers safe introduced in the curricula. To address these concerns, Guardian Public School-Ernakulam, has launched a 3-day free Webinar Series in association with EduBrisk from May 31st to Jun 2nd 2020 from 7pm to 8pm ( IST) , a global brand and pioneer in Brain Friendly Learning.
The Keynote Speaker, Saiju Aravind, is a former DRDO Scientist turned Educationist and the pioneer of BUILD (Brain Utilisation in Learning and Development) method. Mental Health & Learning Environment at Home, Lifelong learner for 21st century and Digital Teaching Learning Physical & Online are the topics for discussion. The webinar has been very well received after its announcement on Social Media.
The Guardian Experience
“Our students learn to be happy while doing their activities – while learning, having fun or facing exams. Teach and learn from anywhere has been our mantra even before Covid. Educators and students at Guardian have been working remotely for quite some weeks now. EduBrisk tools and resources have kept us connected and productive through the online sessions. Expert counselling is designed to facilitate student achievement, improve student behaviour and attendance, and help students develop socially. We help students choose careers and plan for college, and intervene when they face behavioural, physical, or mental health challenges”, says the Principal, Gopakumar.
