CUSAT website, celebrated its Golden Jubilee jubilee by presenting a new look to the CUSAT which celebrates its golden jubilee this year. The Vice-chancellor Dr K.N. Madhusoodanan launched the new-look website.
“The web server and associated services are using Open Source philosophy, the core strength of CUSAT. It also saves lots of budget provisions in terms of IT investment,” the Vice-chancellor pointed out in his inaugural speech. He congratulated the Computer Centre for information resource management and the team that worked for the new website. The new-look website will have a responsive design, and all users will get the same experience of it with different electronic gadgets.
CUSAT launched its first website within 4 years of the commencement of the worldwide web. CUSAT is the first University to have a website in the State. The design, development, and maintenance of the website have been done in-house by the team of the Computer Centre since 1996.
The international agency Webometric’s institutional ranking has ranked CUSAT’s website www.cusat.ac.in as one among the 50 websites in the country and is the first in the university and educational institutions in the State. The website was instrumental for the university in getting a good position in World University Rankings, NIRF, and Chancellor’s award over the years.
