PANAJI:
The sixth edition of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) was released earlier this week by Minister of Education, Dharmendra Pradhan. This year’s top 75 B-schools included Goa Institute of Management (GIM) in 35th place, despite fierce competition and the ongoing pandemic. The ranking is a huge leap forward from last year where the institute was placed 48th. The news comes just days after the institution received the Great Place to Work Award and was rated as a Pioneering school in the globally recognised Positive Impacting Rating 2021 Survey.
Ajit Parulekar, Director, GIM joyously said, “We are elated and proud on being ranked #35 at NIRF, that’s a phenomenal jump of 13 places. If we combine our NIRF and Positive Impact Rating 2021 I think we are one of the top, fastest growing business schools in the world. This ranking clearly indicates the collaborative efforts of the GIM fraternity. We have made significant progress in all dimensions be it research, consultancy or our industry connect. In a pandemic year, these two rankings are an encouragement indeed for all at GIM.”
In order to be ranked, all education institutions are assessed on the basis of five parameters: teaching, learning and resources, research and professional practices, graduation outcomes, outreach and inclusivity, and peer perception. This year GIM obtained a cumulative score of 52.75 out of 100, in the above-mentioned categories which comes as an improvement of 13.13% over its performance in 2020.
Neeraj Amarnani, Dean of Academics at GIM expressed his elation by saying, “The significant jump in NIRF rankings to the 35th place has been made possible by the very committed and farsighted leadership of the institute, the laudable efforts in teaching and intellectual contributions of our faculty as well as the sincere endeavours of our students in multiple domains. I believe these will be the basis for GIM to take further strides in ranking and recognition in the years to come. We wish to express our gratitude to all the stakeholders for their unswerving efforts in enabling GIM to achieve this milestone”.
Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant expressed his joy and congratulated GIM through his social media handle.
