CUSAT Women’s Studies Centre in association with Bank of India organized a discussion on ‘The Female
Experiences of the Flood’ at Hindi Department Auditorium.
Vice Chancellor Dr K.N Madhusoodanan inaugurated the programme. Dr Madhusoodanan pointed out that that society neither evaluated nor appreciated the services done by women in a war face or natural calamities. “Challenges and problems problems faced by Kerala women at the time of flood like social insecurity, health issues and problems related to family and occupation are still prevailing”, said Dr. K. Ajitha, Registrar and Director of Women’s Studies who presided the function.
Anand M.V, Senior Manager, Bank of India, Dr Devi Soumyaja and Dr Sangeetha Prathap, (co-ordinators) spoke. Women Studies Centre took part in the discussion. Women Studies Centre is planning to organize various projects related to this in future.
