Prasad Balakrishnan, CEO Maker Village inaugurated the week long Faculty Development Programme on “Data Science” organized by Division of Information Technology, School of Engineering CUSAT in association with Department of Computer Applications, CUSAT.
Prasad reminded the need of a common hub for academia, industrialists and experts. He also suggested to create customized solutions for our local problems, rather than using solutions offered by global companies. He also opined that India have great potential for creating innovative products in a comparatively lesser cost and stressed the relevance of updating knowledge of the faculty in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence so that they can guide students to create indigenous and customized innovations to serve Indian society.
