Rajagiri College of Social Sciences in association with ICSSR (Indian Council Of Social Science Research) hosted the 18th edition of the DYUTI (Development yearnings for a united and transformed India) with the theme of ‘Reimaging Social Work Education in the outcome based perspectives and practices’ is a conference
series held every year nationally and internationally.
This annual conference brings together the practitioners, academicians and policy makers to come together and
deliberate, who discuss and share ideas regarding the social work and issues prevailing in the country.
The inauguration of DYUTI ’18 began at 9:45 am at the Rajagiri Valley Campus, Kakkanad, which bore witness to the presence of delegates from all over the country, professors, social workers and students of the social work field. The occasion was enriched by the presence most eminent personalities such as Dr S. Parasuraman (Director, TISS Mumbai) and Dr A.T. Jotheeswaran, Technical Officer, WHO. Dr Joseph I Injodey , Executive Director of the college spoke to the delegates and the students regarding the humble origin of the Rajagiri Institution and Jose Alex, CMI welcomed the gathering and shared his experience and the history of Rajagiri College.
Dr Anish K R, HoD of Social Work introduced the new curriculum and field work manual, essential for social workers which is adopted by the college already and the esteemed dignitaries joined hands in releasing this manual. The abstract book of the conference was released by Dr Mary Venus Joseph, Dean by handing it over to Dr Parasuraman. The highlight of the inaugural session was the keynote address delivered by Dr A.T. Jotheeswaran, where he spoke about the 17 goals for sustainable development and how far it is necessary for a better world. The inaugural ceremony came to an end and marked the start for the two day conference.
