KOCHI:
Cochin University of Science and Technology will organize International Symposium on Ocean Technology “SYMPOL 2021” in association with the Defense Research and Development Organisation and CSIR from December 9 to 11.
This will open wider research opportunities in the field of oceanic studies and electronics. The Chairman of Central Defense Research and Development Organisation Dr. G. Satheesh Reddy will inaugurate the symposium, and CUSAT Vice-Chancellor Dr. KN Madhusoodanan will preside. Naval Physical and Oceanographic Laboratory Director S. Vijayan Pillai will deliver the keynote speech and the Director General [Aeronautical Systems] DRDO Dr. Tessie Thomas will release the symposium proceedings.
Dr. Christopher Baxter, Professor, Rhode Island University will deliver the keynote address on the “Impacts of Sea level rise and storm surge on the coastal community in Rhode Island”. “Fiber Optic Distributed Acoustic Sensing”, a milestone in the field of undersea voice communication will be presented by Meghan Quinn, Research Engineer in US Army.
The event will also feature lectures on various smart sensing topics by Sony, a leading electronics technology company, and co-sponsor of the Symposium.
There will be a live demonstration of their latest product, 3D Sensing and Spatial Reality Display.
