KOCHI:
The model United Nations conducted by CUSAT Department of Youth Welfare with the aim to develop the creative skills of the students in the fields of leadership, communication, learning and writing activities was inaugurated by Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr P.G Sankaran.
He said that the Central and State governments are now-a- days giving importance to events like this as part of new educational policies. Dr P.K Baby, Director, Department of Youth Welfare, Joyal Jimmy, Programme co- ordinator and Saphal Tom, Secretary General of model United Nations spoke. 235 students from all over India are participating in the programme.
The delegates have been divided in to as five committees namely U.N human resource committee, all India political party meeting, U.N crisis management, U.N International security-disarmament and International press, which will discuss contemporary topics like transgender policy, J&K and Article 370, third world war and Drug trafficking and disarmament. The three day model United Nations will conclude on 22 nd September, Sunday.
