CUSAT Hosts International Conference on Statistics

“Statistics is a special subject which has interdisciplinary application for the compilation and analysis of data”, said Dr. K.N. Madhusoodanan, Vice Chancellor, CUSAT.

He was inaugurating the three-day ‘International Conference on Advanced Statistical Techniques in Business and Industry’ organized by Department of Statistics, CUSAT, on the occasion of its Silver Jubilee Celebrations. Renowned Statisticians Dr. N. Unnikrishnan Nair, former Vice Chancellor of CUSAT, Prof. N. Balakrishnan, Mc Master University, Canada, Prof. Bill Meaker, Iowa State University, Malay Bhattacharya from IIM, Bangalore, among others will lead the sessions. The Conference which will discuss the theoretical and practical applications of various statistical branches like Probability, big data analysis, machine learning, etc.in business and industry will be the platform for six plenary sessions and 120 technical sessions. Around 600 academicians from all over the world are participating.
