KOCHI:
Department of Computer Science of Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) will join a few of the world renowned Universities abroad for collaborative research to find out the illicit groups generating fake news.
A proposal to detect such groups utilising machine learning techniques submitted by Prof. G. Santhosh Kumar of CUSAT and Associate Prof. Tanmoy Chakaraborty of Indraprastha Institute, Delhi has got the approval of MHRD, Govt of India besides a grant of Rs. 53 Lakhs. This will provide opportunity to the M.Tech and research students of CUSAT’s Computer Science Department to visit Queens University in Britain and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and do advanced research jointly with research groups there. Prof. Deepak Padmanabh- an and Prof. Long Cheng of these varsities will have discussions with researchers from CUSAT.
