Dr Sunil K Narayanankutty, Controller of Examinations, and Professor of Department of Polymer Science and Rubber Technology, Cochin University of Science and Technology has been selected for the Leadership for Academicians Program (LEAP)-Phase II envisaged by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India at IIT Kharagpur from November 11 th to 22 nd and at Cambridge University from January 6 th -10 th, 2020.
Leap is a three weeks flagship leadership development training programme (2 weeks domestic and one week foreign). The programme is meant for second level academic functionaries in public funded higher education
institutions under Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching Scheme.
The purpose of the programme is to fulfill a long perceived need of preparing senior faculty, such as Deans, Heads of Departments for future governance roles as leaders in academic institutions. LEAP is a fully sponsored programme by MHRD and selection has been done based on critical review of applications. Dr Sunil K Narayanankutty is the lone faculty selected for the programme from the state this time.
