KOCHI:
The construction of the academic block (Marine Science Campus) and the first floor of the School of Environmental Studies of Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) has been completed ultilising funds from KIIFB and State Plan.
The KIIFB fund of Rs. 817.87 lakh and Rs.470 lakh from the State Government’s plan outlay were used for the construction of the seven- storeyed academic block at CUSAT’s Lake Side Campus at Ernakulam. The 4291 square meter building was designed by KITCO and RBDCK was responsible for the construction which began on 1st October, 2018. The new building will house laboratories, classrooms, libraries, and other infrastructure facilities needed for studies and research in Marine Science.
The construction of the first floor of Environmental Studies building started on 5th March 2019. Rs.1.20 crore received from the plan outlay of the Government of Kerala was utilized for the purpose. The 613 sqm building includes classrooms, labs, faculty rooms and restrooms requried for the conduct of MSc. course and was contructed by CUSAT’s engineering department.
