ASAP Course Inaugurated at Cusat

KOCHI:
The Summer Skill  Course on ‘Lab Chemist – Incoming Raw Material Testing’    under the Additional Skill Acquisition Programme of the Higher Education Department of Govt. of Kerala was inaugurated by Dr. K. Poulose Jacob, Pro – Vice Chancellor of Cusat at the Department of Polymer Science and Rubber Technology auditorium.
The   Summer Skill Course   has been organized jointly by the Department of Polymer Science and Rubber Technology, CUSAT and Kerala branch of Plastics and Rubber Institute.  Thirty five graduate students from various colleges in the state are participating in the course.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Poulose Jacob stressed the importance of acquiring skills in addition to the conventional ones.  Value addition in terms of added skills and expertise is the need of the hour as the country equips itself to be a global leader in identified sectors.
Prof. Sunil K. Narayanankutty presided over the function.  Prof. Thomas Kurian, Head of the Department of Polymer Science and Rubber Technology welcomed the participants and N V  Mathew, Chief Manager, Philips Carbon Black proposed vote of thanks. Thasneem Nizar offered felicitations.
