MUMBAI:
Aditya Birla Education Academy, a leader in the teacher training space recently launched an upskilling program for the non-teaching staff of educational institutions. The objective of this program was to empower the non-teaching staff with essential skills for the better functioning of schools. Aditya Birla Education Academy has been at the vanguard of supporting the education community with new developments to stay abreast in the education sector.
The non-teaching staff members of educational institutions play a significant part in the school’s development and success. They are the first point of contact for a prospective admission at a school and remain in touch with a parent & student for the next 14 years! It is imperative to train each staff member as they are critical to the success of any institution. They play a role in the admission process and interact with parents and establish new, possibly long-lasting relationships. Aditya Birla Education Academy has initiated various programs to train these members along with focusing on educators and students. A series of five workshops for the non-teaching staff were conducted in December 2021, focusing on 21st century skills of communication, collaboration & productivity and some domain-specific topics. The courses were attended by over 100 non-teaching staff from leading schools across the country.
The non-teaching staff were from different schools across India namely Oberoi International School, Ajmera Global School Borivali, Dadar Parsee Youths Assembly High School, Children’s Academy, Loreto School Bowbazar, South City International School, Birla High School, etc. The topics covered in
the training programmes included proven methods to improve productivity at work, power of communication in school, collaborative teamwork for total school excellence, how to plan effective induction sessions for new employees, GST & its impact on educational institutions.
Commenting on the programme, Neerja Birla, Founder & Chairperson, Aditya Birla Education Trust said, “We, at the Aditya Birla Education Academy believe that it is important for educational institutions to train their non-teaching staff so that they are equipped with the right skills and knowledge. We are pleased to extend our co-operation to educational institutions and support them in upskilling their non-teaching staff by offering enrichment programs designed specially to train them. We look forward to providing more such opportunities for upskilling to the non-teaching community and serve them with practical new-age skill sets required to stay relevant in the education space.”
One of the Mumbai based participant who opted for the program commented, “Aditya Birla Education Academy’s session on the Power of Communication was excellent. The training session was clear, directed, and effective, and it will undoubtedly aid me in further improving my communication skills and my relationship with my school’s team.”
Non-teaching staff are just as important as teachers, thus school improvement efforts should not be confined to instructors. Aditya Birla Education Academy is committed to offer more such programs for training of non-teaching staff, as these are impactful in the drive to improve educational quality and ensure smooth functioning of schools.
