  • International Workshop on Cyber Security at CUSAT

    KOCHI:
    The Five-day Online International Workshop on Information and Network Security Challenges and Solutions using Artificial Intelligence Approaches by the Department of Computer Applications, Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) was inaugurated by Prof. K.N. Madhusoodanan, Vice-Chancellor, CUSAT at 10 a.m. on 14.12.2020 .

    The inaugural session was started with the welcome address by the Workshop Joint Coordinator Prof. Judy M V, Department of Computer Applications, CUSAT. She pointed out the importance of Cyber awareness and Intelligence in today’s pandemic situation and significance of Human Computer Interaction and Artificial Intelligence in Cyber Security . Workshop incorporates 16 sessions with speakers from industry and academia from around the globe and Cyber lab has continued during the course of time imparted cyber awareness to the students and staff communities and this is the 3rd international workshop organised by the research lab.

    Prof. M. K. Sabu, Head, Department of Computer Applications, CUSAT. presided over the function. During his presidential address, he mentioned that this workshop will bring fascinating solutions for challenging real life problems in our society.He also said the department has initiated more socially responsible programs like cyber awareness for higher education institutions.

    Vice-Chancellor, Inaugurated the conference along with a magnificent speech highlighting the importance of cyber security solutions and applauded the continued efforts done by the department in cyber awareness and emphasized the need for more industrial academia collaboration for developing real time solutions for cyber security.

    Dr. Meera V , Registrar CUSAT congratulated the department for organising the workshop in such a relevant area and shared her concerns of different cyber threats happening at organisationallevels and the need to make cyber awareness a necessity for people working in different spheres in an organisational , understanding them the threats and motives of cyber criminals.

    Prof. S M Sunoj, Member Syndicate CUSAT congratulated the department for the effort of the department in the conduct of the workshop in his felicitation speech. The workshop coordinator Prof.VinodP , Department of Computer Applications, CUSAT delivered the formal vote of thanks.

    The workshop aims at bringing together various people working in the areas of Cyber forensics , Cryptography and Network Security, Human Computer Interaction , Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Malware reverse engineering.
