Department of Youth Welfare, Cochin University of Science and Technology will organize a two-day Warli Arts Workshop and Exhibition during 23 rd and 24 th September at Students Aminity Centre in the Thrikkakara campus. CUSAT Vice Chancellor Dr. J Letha will inaugurate the exhibition at 10 AM on 23rd .
Warli painting is a traditional art of the tribals of the North Sahyadri Range in Maharashtra. Conveying stories and messages through different geometrical shapes, the art form is increasingly gaining popularity for its application for paintings on walls, cloths, canvass, home décor items etc. Classes on both days will be led by the well-known Warli artist Serena Madha.
