Unleashing Talent and Culture with Fado Singing Competition

The month of November promises a treat for all fado enthusiasts as Semana da Cultura Indo Portuguesa (Goa) will host the 4 th edition of Fado Contest 2016 on the 27 th of November 2016 at Institute Menezes Braganza Hall, Panaji.
The Fado Contest 2016 is being held in collaboration with Cidade de Goa and Institute Menezes Braganza. In order to match the culturally rich standards of the past, preparation sessions and interactive workshops will be conducted on 14th and 25th October 2016 for the Fado Contest at the following addresses:
14 th October 2016- CLP-Camões, Dr. Dada Vaidya Road, Agva House, 9/32, Panjim, from 5.00 – 7.00 pm
25th October 2016 – Clube Harmonia, Opp. Hotel Nanutel, Margao, from 5.00 – 7.00 pm

The workshops are being held in an effort to prepare the potential participants in the FadoContest 2016, equipping them with the necessary information on the Fado and its history, genres, characteristics, lyrics, famous fadistas, performance and musical instruments.
Participants will be guided by Prof. Delfim Correia da Silva, Sonia Shirsat, Franz Schubert, Nadia Rebelo and other renowned Goan singers and musicians. Participants of the pr
