A Special Dance Performance By Souleymane Sanogo

Alliance Française de Trivandrum in association with the Embassy of France in India and Bharat Bhavan presents ‘La Danse Ou Le Chaos/Dance or Chaos’, an A Special Dance Performance By Souleymane Sanogo at Bharat Bhavan on February 2.

A Choreographic Documentary on a Destiny of Africa: “Dance or Chaos” is a documentary about a lived history that of Souleymane Sanogo, which unfolds through a contemporary dance solo performed by the artist whose adventure is thus told. This creation is part of a series of shows that the Bamako Company Blon Ba dedicated to figures of the artistic life of Mali.

“Dance or chaos” is a new stage, this time with the intervention of the creative dance, in full excitement throughout Africa. It is by the expressive force of this art that one enters into the flesh of history, that one sees the deep springs, that one discovers the meanders and the results. Beyond its self-biographical character, “Dance or chaos” highlights (and in shadows) one of the major stakes of the continent: the bifurcation in front of which is located an innumerable youth, a sharp energy, but without a compass.

Drowning in the Mediterranean, the suicidal nihilism of jihadism, enlistment as child soldiers, the venalization of sex, cultural disintegration are possible and unfortunately at work. Amazing miracles nevertheless occur, numerous, everywhere, transfiguring destinies that seemed destined to social despair and suffocation. This potential bifurcation is one of the most important and most significant figures of the world to be born, of the world that is germinating when the hegemony of the Western project is crumbling.
