SID Allied Ventures Introduces Advanced Garbage Management Technology to Goa

In an effort to maintain a clean and healthy environment SID Allied Ventures has embarked on a state-wide campaign ‘We Litter, We Clean’. The campaign aims to reach across 200 schools in Goa to educate children on waste management. In addition to the campaign, SID Allied Ventures is now also reaching out to the corporate industry, housing societies, state government, MLAs and Panchayats to raise awareness about waste management and to offer waste management solutions which are cost effective and environmentally friendly. The technology is presently being effectively used in Denmark, Bulgaria and parts of India and will now be introduced in Goa. The initiative is aligned with the country’s Swachh Bharat initiative.
Combating the problems of pollution, SID Allied Ventures has developed a range of services and technologies which effectively manage waste while ensuring that we do not harm the environment. “We Litter, We Clean ‘It is a project initiated to save Goa, and its people. We would like to introduce Goa to several technologically advanced solutions which are environment friendly and non-polluting,” said David DeSouza, Director of SID Allied Ventures. Technical expertise from Bulgaria and Denmark have been adopted in the garbage treatment and management services being provided in Goa.
These solutions proposed by SID Allied Ventures include bio toilets, bio cleaning, hygiene and disinfection products, waterless urinals, automatic organic waste composters, kitchen waste shredders and agro waste shredders which are environmentally friendly, cost effective and provides eco-sustainability.
A live demo will take place on November 14 at Nerul Church compound, as part of the ‘We Litter We Clean’ campaign which also aims to promote the five R’s include Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Revive and Restore. Corporates, panchayats and government bodies have been invited for the live demo in an effort to encourage people to set up these technologies across Goa to reduce pollution.
Sewage management needs to be done in a scientific manner. Explains David on sewage disposal , “Garbage management needs to be done in a scientific manner. Most night soilers today do not dispose the sewage waste in the correct manner. Instead they dump it into rivers and water bodies under the dark of night. This is an economic hazard”
“If we treat waste produced in our daily lives effectively with bacteria and enzymes we will be able to complete the cycle of treating waste in a scientific manner,” explained Alexandar Assenov Nikolov, Phoenix Kleantech, Denmark based Bio Chemist while speaking on the waste management solutions incorporated in the project.
“There are three types of pollution, one is air, the other is water pollution and the last is soil pollution. We have products which eliminates waste in a holistic manner,” said K. Kiran Kumar, Founded UNNiK Enterprises.
David De Souza, Director of SID Allied Ventures has also collaborated with musicians and other artists to spread awareness on garbage segregation and waste management, through the medium of music and song. A special vehicle drove to schools across the state to engage students via mini concerts, talks and demos on waste management. The project aims to involve children through the mediums of music and short talks on what is ailing the state. The students were educated on waste management so that they can implement the same at home and are encouraged to spread the awareness of waste management amongst friends and family. The idea behind the campaign is to educate the youth for a greener tomorrow.
Adopting an out-of-the-box approach David explained, “We designed a magic show which will address the issues of garbage. We aim to cover schools, where we are trying to educate children and change their mind sets. Thus when they grow up and become adults, they are sensitive about waste and the environment”.
David has set up a mentor and mentee programme in a bid to sustain the project in the future. The sixth and seventh grade students comprise the mentees while the students of eighth and ninth grade are assigned the role of mentors. Under the guidance of their science teachers, the student group will educate other students on waste segregation and operate the compost unit set up in their school.
