Kick-starting this year’s Prime Day celebrations, Amazon Prime Video unveils an exciting and exclusive lineup of Indian and International entertainment.
This year, Prime Day celebrations start early at Prime Video with 14 new, exciting Indian and International titles releasing across 14 days as a run-up to Prime Day 2019. Starting July 1, Prime members can enjoy Blockbuster titles across English, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Marathi, Bengali, Punjabi, Telugu and Kannada languages.
This must-watch list includes smash hits like Kalank, Venom, Maharshi, Ishq, A Star is Born, NGK, D/O Parvathamma, Muklawa, Bhoot Chaturdashi, Chandigarh Amritsar Chandigarh, A Live Prime Day Concert headlined by Taylor Swift , Mogra Phulaala amongst others. Adding to this all-star line-up, Prime Video will launch the second season of the much-loved Amazon Original – Comicstaan, an unscripted series to find India’s next big comic sensation, on July 12.

Kalank (Hindi) July 1, 2019
Kalank, is a story set in 1945, in Pre-Independent India that revolves around six enigmatic characters as their lives entangle whilst in search of love. They are separated by the dichotomy between the two worlds of Husnabad – the elite, opulent and solemn world of the Chaudhry family, and the wild, mysterious and musical underbelly of the town, Hira Mandi, a town in North India. Directed by Abhishek Varman and produced by Karan Johar, the film brings together India’s biggest stars, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur in one frame.
Venom (English) July 2, 2019
Venom revolves around Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy), a broken man who loses everything including his job and fiancée. Just when his life is at its lowest, he becomes host to an alien symbiote which results in extraordinary superpowers – transforming him into Venom. The movie plays on the dark side of the character who explores his villainous powers to evade evil. While the plot twists in the movie elaborate on how Brock grows to understand the depths of Venom’s character – they ultimately pair up to save San Francisco.
Maharshi (Telugu) July 3, 2019
Starring Mahesh Babu, Pooja Hegde and Allari Naresh in the lead, Maharshi tells a story of Rishi, a millionaire businessman who returns to his homeland, where he becomes the champion of poor and downtrodden farmers.
Ishq (Malayalam) July 4, 2019
Ishq follows the story of two youngsters who try to find joy after they lose out on love and their need for mutual trust to sustain love and happiness. Starring Shane Nigam, Ann Sheetal and Shine Tom Chacko in the lead, Ishq is directed by Anuraj Manohar.
NGK (Tamil) July 5, 2019
Socially conscious and innocent farmer Kumaran, leads his life peacefully with his wife and family. When he’s dragged into politics, his talent and ability earns him enmity. This emotional political thriller story tells us how he overcomes the situation and rises as a leader for the greater good. NGK is directed by K. Selvaraghavan and stars Suriya, Rakul Preet Singh and Sai Pallavi in lead roles.
D/O Parvathamma (Kannada) July 6, 2019
The story follows an investigative officer who investigates a multi layered sensational and challenging murder case. D/O Parvathamma stars Suraj Gowda, Haripriya and Prabhu Mundkur and is directed by Shankar.
Muklawa (Punjabi) July 7, 2019
Set against the backdrop of the pre-partitioned era, Muklawa is a film based on traditions of a newlywed woman who stay back at her parents` house for a while after her wedding. It was forbidden for the groom to even enter the bride`s village during this period, let alone meet her. The story revolves around the man who sets out to romance his own wife – in an era where life was simple, but love was difficult!
Bhoot Chaturdashi (Bengali) July 8, 2019
Four youngsters head out to an abandoned house to shoot a documentary. What starts off as a regular fun road trip slowly becomes a dangerously haunting experience as a series of strange and unfortunate events start happening to them. Can they survive this nightmare? Bhoot Chaturdashi stars Ayann Bhowmik, Ena Saha, Deepsheta Mitra and Soumendra Bhattacharya.
Chandigarh Amritsar Chandigarh (Punjabi) July 10, 2019
A Girl from Chandigarh comes to Amritsar with the intention of rejecting a prospective groom and ends up spending the day with a boy from Amritsar. His constant chatter exasperates her, but they share a curious chemistry nevertheless. They clash over their cities, their beliefs and ideologies and almost everything they talk about. Between bouts of culture bashing and despite many scenarios where both could have gone their separate ways, they end-up spending the day together. She finally decides to return without meeting the prospective groom and leaves a note for him with the boy. Will the boy and girl part ways with just the memories of this day or will they meet again?
