Ghazal and classical singer Prasidh along with singing mother-daughter duo Sheela and Aleena Xavier put together a soul-warming music performance today at the Government General Hospital here for the weekly ‘Arts and Medicine’ show of the Kochi Biennale Foundation.

Prasidh began the show with the song, ‘Anuragini Itha En Karalil Virinja Pookal’ from the 1985 Malayalam film ‘Oru Kudakkeezhil’, and followed it up by Hindi song, ‘Chahoonga Mein’. Next up was Sheila who crooned, ‘Poonthenaruvi’, ‘Kaathodu Kathoram’ and ‘Kanakuyile Padoo’ among others. This was followed by Aleena’s rendition of the haunting number ‘Maanasa Manivenuvil’, from the yesteryear film- Moodal Manju.
The mélange of songs was seasoned with harmonious background music by Mehboob Orchestra, which received much applause from hospital staff, patients and bystanders.

al medium of music, we can reach out to people in distress and move them with the healing touch”, Prasidh said.
The singer who hails from Chellanam is a regular on TV shows namely ‘Yuva’ on Kairali We and ‘Pinnilavu’ on Janam TV. A good Ghazal singer, he has also trained in classical music.
Sheela Xavier, member of Kalabhavan and who has been the leading female voice of ‘Harisree Melodies’ music troupe for more than 20 years also expressed her joy at being able to sing for a noble cause.
This week marked the 152nd episode of the all-Wednesday series organised by the Kochi Biennale Foundation in association with Lakeshore Hospital and Research Centre Limited and Mehboob Memorial Orchestra, an initiative to provide healing for patients through quality music.
