NISH Extends Date for DECSE Applications

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
National Institute of Speech and Hearing (NISH) has extended the last date for receiving applications from graduates for the one-year Diploma course in Early Childhood Special Education (Hearing Impairment)-DECSE (HI) to June 26.
Parents and siblings of hard of hearing students will be given preference to the course. The parents need not necessarily be a degree holder but should have passed their 12th/Pre-degree.
The course, affiliated to the Rehabilitation Council of India, aims at moulding talented and efficient teachers for training hearing-impaired students at their rehabilitation centres. Those who are admitted to the course will be trained in assessing, managing, educating, and rehabilitating hearing-impaired students who are six years or below.
