  • Kerala Becomes the Capital of Lifestyle Diseases: Dr. Suresh Das

    KOCHI:
    Kerala become the capital of lifestyle diseases like diabetes, cardiac as well as cancer related ailments, all of these require lot of biotechnological interventions, said Dr. Suresh Das, Executive Vice President, Kerala State Council for Science and Technology.
    Kerala has so much of potential in terms of natural resources and in terms of human resources; we don’t rank well in the area of Biotechnology. So there is lot of need to invest in this very important area, he added. Hcusat2e was inaugurating the International conference on Biotechnology and Neuroscience organised by Department of Bio technology, Cusat in collaboration with National University of Singapore (NUS) at seminar complex.
    Dr. C.S. Paulose Research Excellence Award in the presence of his wife Dr. Sandy Paulose, was presented to Dr. Soong Tuck Wah, Professor, Department of Physiology, NUS. Vice Chancellor Dr. J. Letha presided. Dr. M.K. Jayaraj, Syndicate member, Dr. Saritha.G. Bhatt, Head, Department of Biote
