MUMBAI:
Femina Miss India 2018 finale saw a new set of beauty queens emerge at its grand finale on Tuesday in Mumbai. However, the Bollywood stamp on the event was unmistakable. Bollywood A-listers like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Madhuri Dixit among others marked their presence and also performed at the event.
Fresh from the success of her film Veere Di Wedding, Kareena danced to a hit number from the recent release Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety called Bom Diggy Diggy. She turned up in a shimmery black top and figure-hugging leggings and comfortable black boots. Quite clearly she was enjoying every minute of her performance, which got a lot of applause from the audience. She was later seen dressed in a mustard flowing gown.
Actor Madhuri Dixit presented what is now almost a signature feature by her in award functions and other high profile Bollywood events — a classical dance based performance. Dressed in a beautiful black ankle-length anarkali, gajraa in her hair and jewellery to go with it, Madhuri was a picture of Indian finesse. Videos from the event show her doing perfect chakkars (rounds) from her Kathak-based performance.
Looks like the performance ended with a combined piece, blending many dance forms, both classical and folk, into a final culminating act.
Race 3 star Jacqueline too took to stage and performed to hit song from the 1990s, Desi Girl. Dressed in a short shocking pink and red frock with a tiara, Jacqueline looked gorgeous. In video clips that have since gone viral, Miss World Manushi Chillar, dressed in a pretty icy blue gown, can be seen shaking to the foot-tapping number from Priyanka Chopra-starrer Dostana.
Bollywood also marked its presence at the show with Malaika Arora chipping in as one of the many judges while Karan Johar and Ayushmann Khurrana were the hosts at the function. Earlier, actor-anchor and former Miss India Neha Dhupia walked in with grace and twirled like a queen. Given her competition when it comes to making a grand entry was the current incumbent, Manushi.
