As a part of the Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MASHAV) alumni in Kerala, the Consulate General of Israel to South India stationed at Bengaluru has come forward to assist selected flood affected schools especially in Central Kerala with the support of Rajagiri College of Social Sciences.
As a part of the programme, Dana Kursh, The Consul General of Israel in Bengaluru, inaugurated the renovated Computer lab of St. Sebastian’s Higher Secondary school, Gothuruth. Dana Kursh emphasized that, Israel is very happy to support the schools as kids are future leaders. She also appreciated Rajagiri College of Social Sciences and the Rajagiri alumni of MASHAV programme conducted by Israel who supported the cause.
Israel will support the selected flood affected schools of Kerala through providing the infrastructure, she concluded. Hilda Sheeba Mendez, principal, St.Sebastin’s HSS, expressed their happiness to the Israel Government for the heartwarming effort. Fr.Shiju Kalarakkal, delivered the keynote address. Rev. Dr. Mathew Vattathara, Director, Rajagiri College on Institutions, Fr. Shinto, Dr. Joseph I Injodey, Executive Director, Rajagiri College, Dr. Binoy Joseph, Principal, Rajagiri College of Social Science, Dr. Mary Venus, Dean-Research, Rajagiri, Dr Celine Sunny (Rajagiri Research Institute), Prof. Dr. Kiran Thambi were also present at the occasion.
Through a screening process, Rajagiri College was able to identify 5 schools and St. Sebastian’s Higher Secondary school, Gothuruth is selected as a priority one. With the financial assistance extended by the Consulate a fully fledged Computer Room is to be setup with 6 laptops and 7 desktop computers along with 7 UPS , 2 printer and 2 scanner . A total financial assistance of approximately 10,08,500 lakhs is allocated for the purpose. St. Mary’s LP School, Alangad, HIJPg School, Thuruthipuram, LF LP School, Gothuruth and HC LP School, Kadavathuruth are the other selected schools for the support.
