Youth Welfare Department of CUSAT in association with Bank of India is organizing campus cleaning and awareness programme on October 2 nd , 150 th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
Vice Chancellor Dr. K.N Madhusoodanan and Maheshkumar V, Zonal Manager, Bank Of India will jointly inaugurate the programme by planting saplings at 9.30 am on the day near Student’s Amenity Center in the main campus. Students and employees of Bank of India will together collect all the plastic waste in the campus. The organizers will distribute cheap, re-usable cloth bags in order to reduce the use of plastic carry bags.
Students will submit representations to firms like Lulu Hyper Market, Uber eats, Swiggy and Somato to avoid the use of plastic carry bags for distribution. “As a follow up action necessary assistance will be given by lady staff members for production and distribution of cloth bags”, informed Dr. P.K Baby, Director, Department of Youth Welfare.
