KOCHI: Aster DM Foundation and Aster Volunteers have launched a vocational training program in collaboration with the District Administration Alappuzha and the Skill Development Mission of Kerala. The program, held at Aster Medcity Kochi, focuses on training students as General Duty Assistants (GDA) and Geriatric Care and Rehab Assistants (GCRA).
“I am glad to be part of initiatives that see training in the essential areas like geriatric and palliative care as a step toward an even more inclusive healthcare system. Besides, it empowers the underprivileged,” said V.D. Satheesan, Leader of the Opposition of Kerala Assembly, while inaugurating the event.
A total of 50 students—25 for each course have enrolled in this six-month program. This initiative is part of Aster Volunteers’ efforts to empower rural youth by providing them with skills and training, enabling them to access better career opportunities.
