To spread awareness on the importance of cleanliness and effective waste management, Young Indians (Yi), the youth wing of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), is organizing this interschool short skit contest amongst Upper Primary (UP) and High School (HS) students on the theme of Swachh Bharat.
In the initial round, schools from across the city had sent the videos of the skits that they had presented at their school assemblies. From these videos, 10 skits were shortlisted from each section for the finals. The first, second and third prize winners from each section would win Rs 10000, Rs 5000 and Rs 3000 respectively and seven teams would win consolation prizes of Rs 1000 each. Special prizes of Rs 2500, Rs 1500 and Rs 1000 would be given for teachers of the first three winning teams also.
The contest is being held in a venue as the Vytilla Mobility Hub so that the general public can view it and the message is communicated to them also. This is the first time that a skit contest is being organized in a mobility hub and this has immense social relevance, said Akhilesh Agarwal, Chair, Yi Kochi Chapter.
