Thiruvananthapuram: The Opposition in Kerala Legislative Assembly protested fiercely against M Swaraj, CPM MLA, quoting The Bible for the wrong reasons.
The quote is reported to have offended members for many reasons.
Swaraj had asked the Opposition members to to read Matthew Chapter 7 verse 6 of the Bible.
The Bible verse reads: “Do not give dogs what is holy, and do not throw your pearls before pigs, lest they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you.”
It is not clear wheteher Communist member M Swaraj sought the help of The Bible to elaborate his point or to denigrate the members using its literal meaning.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan rose to the occasion and pacified the house by requesting the Speaker for a review of the reference made by his party member.
