KOCHI:
Jointly organized by Indian Medical Association (IMA) Kochi branch, Photojournalists Forum, Undo pothichor.com, General Hospital Dietary department and KMM college, Thrikkakkara, under the Jaibharath educational foundation, the World food day observation and photography exhibition will be inaugurated tomorrow (16.10.18, Tuesday) by A.P.M Muhammad Haneesh, managing director, KMRL, at General Hospital, Ernakulum, at 10am.
Zero Hunger Kochi is the theme raised by the food day this year. More than 1000 kilogram of food is being wasted in Kochi city every day from the restaurants and catering centres. The photo exhibition by Photojournalist forum to be held at the General Hospital based on the theme Hunger and Food will be an eye opener to those who show unnecessary luxury in food. First, second and third prize winners of the photo exhibition will be given cash awards of 5000, 3000 and 2000 respectively by IMA. And students from KMM college will give food packs to the hungry ones in Kochi city that day.
The 10th phase of Haritham Jeevanam, the organic farming project of GH, will also get started the same day. Justin K Abraham, founder of Undo Pothichor, Dr. A Anitha, superintend, GH, Maya Lakshmi, senior dietician, Dr. P V Sumithran, Principal, KMM College, Dr. M.I Junaid Rahman, president IMA, Dr. Haneesh Meerasa, secretary, Prakash Elamakkara, convener, photojournalist forum, Mahesh Prabhu, Shiyami Thodupuzha, joint conveners,and Manu Shelly, treasurer, will attend the ceremony.
