  • VMSIIHE Hospitality Career Expo 2019 to Bridge the Gap

By NE Reporter on September 12, 2019

    GOA:
The hospitality and travel industry is one of the world’s fastest-growing sectors, with bookings hitting close to $1.6 trillion according to the ‘2018 Travel and Hospitality Industry Outlook’ released by Deloitte, the US based audit and consulting firm. The hospitality industry accounts for more than one-tenth of global GDP and is going to be the single largest employer globally. In an ever changing industry which has new hospitality sectors springing up annually, the need for skilled professionals has never been higher.

    V. M. Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Education (VMSIIHE) situated at Manora-Raia,Goa has stepped in to bridge the gap with the VMSIIHE Hospitality Career Expo 2019, a one-of-a-kind career expo open to students from various hospitality & culinary institutes from Pan India graduating this academic year 2019-20.

Speaking about the event, Prof. Irfan Mirza, Director/Principal of VMSIIHE said, “VMSIIHE Hospitality Career Expo 2019 is the ideal platform for representatives of the hospitality industries to meet, interact and engage with the country’s budding talent from within hospitality institutes. The event will also encourage exchange of knowledge and ideas. Goa is one of the world’s fastest growing markets and we aim to encourage this growth”

The 3-day event, which is scheduled to be held between 11th and 13th October 2019 will host hospitality institutes and industry stakeholders who can interact and network on a common platform.

The event will have exhibition spaces for industry players ranging from starred and boutique hotels to fine dining restaurants and fast food chains. Students from hospitality institutes who will be graduating this academic year will have the opportunity to showcase their skills and seek placement opportunities. The event creates a common ground for students and top-class industry professionals across India to interact with graduating students.

The event will also host perfectly laid out networking sessions each evening where stakeholders can interact with each other. The local cuisine and culture of Goa will be showcased at the event. Spread over 3 days, the first day will witness starred hotels and chain of hotels whereas day 2 will welcome boutique and independent hotels. The last day will have fast food chains and fine dining restaurants engaging with hospitality students.
