The eventful day of RFYS football finals in Goa that begun wit
h two closely fought matches, ended with a couple of comprehensive victories for Our Lady of Perpetual Succour High School (Junior boys category) and Rosary Commerce and Arts College (College boys category). The two teams thumped their respective opponents to lift the silverware and proceed to compete in the nationals to be played in Mumbai.
Junior Boys
Marina English Higher Secondary School vs Our Lady of Perperual Succour High School
In the Goa finals in Junior boys category Our Lady of Perpetual Succour High School (OLPS HS) trounced Marina English Higher Secondary School, Verna by 4-1 to lift the trophy. The leading architect of OLPS HS’s triumph and the player of the match was Sevon Costa who set exceedingly high standards in the field and contributed with two fantastic goals.
The game moved in fast forward mode right from the beginning with both teams fighting for possession. OLPS HS won the battle in the first half with two brilliant goals. The final nail in the coffin for Marina English HS was hammered in by Feliston Tavares in the 59th minute, taking OLPS HS’s eventual victory margin to 4-1.

College Boys
Rosary College of Commerce and Arts vs SS Dempo College
The last final in Goa was another high-scoring contest dominated by one side. Rosary College of Commerce and Arts overwhelmed SS Dempo College by a margin of 5-1 to lift the trophy of the College boys category. Given their vast experience in the tournament, the result was expected to an extent. But to bring all that experience and skill together in a high-pressure final match was a commendable effort.
