THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
To celebrate the remarkable contribution by women in the society and workplace, UST Global Trivandrum celebrated International Women’s Day today at its campus. The theme for the event was Balance for Better.
The event was inaugurated by eminent guests Dr. Usha Titus, Principal Secretary Department of Higher education; Sobha Vishwanath, Founder of Weavers Village & Curator of Bhoomika dolls; and Dr. Shruthi Vijayan, Doctor, VJ Model, Dancer and Bridal makeup artist.
The events started with formal lamp lighting followed by the eminent ladies addressing the gathering.
The day-long celebration included music performance, dance shows, contest & prize distribution. The celebration saw a huge attendance and appreciation by the employees. The Chief Guests shared inspiring stories, experiences and messages with the employees. The session was also interactive by our women associates getting to know more on the experiences of these eminent personalities. Shilpa Menon, UST Global’s Thiruvananthapuram Centre Head; Arun Narayanan, Chief Operating Officer of UST Global also addressed the employees.
12 Inspiring Women of 2018 on Categories of “Leadership, Personality, Social Cause & Digital” out of 35 nominations were awarded. The day was very inspiring with the speeches and true epitome of Women’s strength within and supporting each other. A Mother’s Room for the employees was also inaugurated.
