KOCHI:
GOAL 2019, UST Global’s prestigious inter-company football tournament, was inaugurated today at the Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology Ground. The 6th edition of the tournament will see participation from 33 companies based in Infopark.
Present at the inauguration were K. Muhammed Y. Safirulla, District Collector; Basil Joseph, Movie Director; and Sunil Balakrishnan, Global Head – Development Center Operations, UST Global.
Over the years, GOAL has gained in popularity and got bigger in participation. This years’ event will feature 64 matches in the men’s section in which the best teams of Kochi IT community will showcase their football skills and going by history, it will witness many exciting and keenly-fought matches. There is also a ladies’ penalty shoot-out with 26 teams competing for the championship. The matches of GOAL 2019 will be played at the Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology Ground during the weekends in March with the finals scheduled for April 7th, 2019. The inaugural match was between Ernst & Young (EY) and Mitsogo.
Started in the year 2012 by UST Global, the Kochi edition of GOAL has seen consistent growth in participation and viewership. With an expected reach of more than 25,000 people, GOAL has undoubtedly become Infopark’s biggest sports carnival that brings together Kochi’s entire techie community.
Being one of the most anticipated tournaments in Infopark, GOAL reaches out to more than 200 companies in Infopark, be it small, medium or large. This is one platform that brings together entire Infopark.
