THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) – Future Technologies Lab in association with Unity has invited ideas that can improve education sector with the help of Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality/Gaming as part of its Kerala Extended Reality Challenge 2019.
The ideas for joining the contest should focus on evolving educational app for classroom teaching, FabLab Machines, gamification in learning and solutions for acquiring new skills (drawing, new games etc.). Students, who are already working in AR VR gaming sector, can choose ‘Your Own Challenge’ option, so that they can submit their interesting solutions.
Judging criteria will be based on the feasibility of the idea, with bonus points for developing own 3D contents and their quality; uniqueness and impact of the solution and easiness of implementation in the current system.

Winners will get direct entry into the Idea Fest finals and stand the chance to win grant upto Rs 2 lakh, depending on the stage of the idea and subject to the review and selection by the KSUM internal panel of judges.
Participants with quality projects will get an opportunity to work in startups or in Future Technologies Lab as interns. Future Technologies Lab is an initiative by KSUM (nodal agency of Government of Kerala) to provide necessary tools, equipment and infrastructure for Research and Development of emerging technologies.
