Doctor M. C K Nair, Vice Chancellor of Kerala University of Health Science said Transfusion sector has become the most life saving medical sector.
He was inaugurating ‘TRANSMEDCON 2018’, 7th national conference on transfusion medicine, organized by Indian Society of Transfusion Medicine at Lulu International Centre, Bolgatty yesterday. From expert 600 doctors presently working in the sector, number will increase by ten times in five years, added Nair.Doctors R. N Makru, Maneesha Srivasthava, Veena Shenoy and K. C Sanjeev attended the inaugural session.
The conference , led by Dr Susheela J Inah, vice principal of Jubilee Mission hospital thrissur, Dr Veena Shenoy of Amrutha hospital kochi and Dr Mohandas Murugeshan of Malabar Cancer Centre was attended by1000 delegates including doctors from foreign countries. Various topics will be discussed today as part of the conference . Transfusion medicine is a medical segment that deals with blood donation, collection and culturing of blood cells and stem cells.
