THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
As the summer vacation is round the corner, District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) of Thiruvananthapuram has arranged an array of facilities, including boating and swimming, at Akkulam, Kappil and Neyyar Dam for children.
Akkulam Tourist Village has a children’s park and a swimming pool while boat journey is available for visitors at Kappil and Neyyar Dam. The children’s park at Akkulam, which features modern and safe playing facilities, can be used by more than 100 visitors at a time. The swimming pool will function on all days except Monday. On Wednesdays, entry to the pool has been restricted to women. There will be facilities for swimming training for children during summer vacation.
Entry to the children’s park will be from 7am to 7pm, and the swimming pool will be open from 7am to 6pm. Priyadarshini Boat Club at Kappil offers four-seater speed boat and eight-seater safari boat services from 10am to 6pm.
The boat club at Neyyar Dam also has speed boat and safari boat services from 10am to 6pm.
